Police abuse? Cops smash window, taser black guy during routine traffic stop

An Indiana man and woman have filed a federal lawsuit against the Hammond Police Department, alleging they used excessive force during a September traffic stop.
Jamal Jones was in the passenger seat while his girlfriend Lisa Mahone was driving on Sept. 24 with Mohone’s two children in the back when Mahone was stopped and given a citation for driving without a seat belt. The incident was filmed by Mahone’s 14-year-old son on his cellphone.
“Thank goodness Joseph took the video, because the video stands for itself that these officers engaged in excessive force,” attorney Dana Kurtz said in a press conference with the couple on Tuesday.
When police asked Jones to show his ID, but he didn’t have his license with him because of a recent ticket. When he reached in the back seat to get the ticket, the police drew their guns and ordered him out of the car, causing Mahone to call 911.
After the police continue to ask Mahone to open the door, they then shatter the passenger window and use a stun-gun on Jones.
Jones was later charged with resisting law enforecement and refusal to aid an officer.
