Woman arrested after bragging about fooling police with fake 911 call so she could drive home drunk

WAYNE, NEW JERSEY — A Parsippany woman allegedly made a false 911 call on Monday to create a diversion for police so she and her friend could drive home drunk from the bar without being caught, North Jersey reported.
At around 3:15 a.m. police received a call reporting a female being attacked in the Mother's Ale House bar parking lot of by a suspect in a blue pickup truck. The officers raced to the bar but found no assault and no witnesses. Surveillance cameras also did not pick up any crime.
Immediately after making the call, Hayley Oates, 25, posted on social media: "lmao.. 2 mins later the cop peals out..silly piggies tricks r for u."
From the post, officers could reach the conclusion that she was the one who made the fake call so that she could leave the Grasshopper Bar and Grill with her friend and drive drunk home without being caught.
According to NJ News, a Wayne police statement read: "The Wayne Police Department takes these events extremely seriously ... Falsely creating a situation that requires officers to execute emergency response, indicating that an event exists that's a threat to life or property, is inexcusable and reprehensible behavior."
Oates was arrested on Thursday for filing false reports to law enforcement and creating a false public alarm.
