Interviews from Mexico - Life and Music of Gustavo Cerati

Interviews from Mexico, hosted by Laura Carlsen, goes straight to the source -- the men and women making news and making history in Mexico and throughout the region. Rock and pop music have a long history in Latin America as a unique form of social and cultural expression, not merely a copy of the genre as performed in the United States. Today's program looks at the life and music of Gustavo Cerati, (1959-2014), Argentine singer-songwriter, guitarist, composer and producer. Cerati is considered one of the most important and influential figures in Spanish language rock. Carlsen interviews Argentine journalist and writer Maitena Aboitiz, author of the newly published book "Cerati in the First Person", on the life and musical career of the Latin American rock legend.
