Nicaragua to commence construction on US$50 billion canal

Nicaraguan engineers next month will begin construction of a US$50 billion dollar canal that will rival the Panama Canal. Environmentalists are not happy about the canal which will pass through Central America's largest inland water body, Lake Nicaragua, as it is a crucial fresh water source for the country. teleSUR
