A vehicle recently crashed into a crowded restaurant in Houston, Texas. According to police, the driver of the SUV said she was attempting to park but mistakenly hit the gas pedal instead of the brake.

She plowed into the front of the building. Diners had been sitting at tables near the glass windows as the SUV came crashing through.

The vehicle pushed a number of them towards the back of the restaurant. The owner of the eatery remarked "It was just like a normal day. We were back there in the kitchen, you know, serving customers and .. we heard something really bad happened. All the employees ran to the front, and we saw that car in the building.”

About 30 people had been inside the restaurant at the time of the crash. At least 9 people were hurt as a result.

Most of the injuries are said to be minor, however some of the affected customers were hospitalized. The woman who was driving the SUV wasn’t hurt in the accident.

She reportedly told the manager of DiMassi's Mediterranean Buffet that she had always wanted to eat there and the day of the wreck was going to be her first visit.
