Merchant Navy Ship (MV Albedo) - Nadia Farooq

The MV Albedo, a Malaysian-flagged vessel which was taken hostage by Somali pirates. Out of 22 hostages 7 were Pakistani those had been kidnapped by Somali pirates from MV Albedo. Somali pirates kept these Pakistanis for many months and continued demanding millions of US dollars as ransom for their freedom. During this all period I reported from Geo News’ Screen the misery of their families as family members constantly prayed and requested to the authorities for making arrangements for release of their loved ones. The tears of Hira( a little girl) forced Government machinery to moved as well as I continuously shown hira’s pray for her father through my reports and Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad and CPLC chief Ahmad Chinoy along with other media and social workers continued efforts for collecting money to pay the ransom and keeping the Somali pirates engaged for release of the hostage Pakistanis. Finally our efforts succeeded and the father of little kids reached home.
