Each reigon has its own unique recipe and variation, this one comes right out of Chennai all pepped and spiced. The Dakhni Biryani is very famous in chennai and is a staple in Muslim weddings.
The Biryani gets its flavor from browned onions and whole garam masalas. So this weekend cook up a meal fit for the kings.
Ingredients:
700gm onions, diced
1kg mutton
600gm chopped tomatoes
50gm garlic paste
70gm ginger paste
7-8 green chillies
A large handful of coriander and mint leaves
A cup of curd
1tbsp red chilli powder
2tbsp salt
1 lime
1/2tsp turmeric powder
A small handful of cardamom, cloves and cinnamon sticks
