THE INTERVIEW - Historian Jean Garrigues: 'For the first time, Hollande knows what he is doing'

For the second time in six months, François Hollande, sinking in the polls and under fire from all sides, has revamped his government. Faced with a schism within his cabinet, the beleaguered French president purged his ministerial ranks of dissenters from the left wing of his own Socialist Party.

Jean Garrigues, a political historian and author of many books on French political life, comments on France's latest political crisis.
