Lady, a senior black Labrador retriever who’s had a tough time finding a home, was recently adopted by Wrigley Gum heiress Helen Rich.

Lady, a senior black Labrador retriever who’s had a tough time finding a home, was recently adopted by Wrigley Gum heiress Helen Rich.

Rich found out about the dog’s troubles after Lady’s heart-wrenching story went viral on the Internet.

The loveable canine was first sent to live at a shelter in 2012 after her original owner passed away.

She was then adopted by a family, but they returned her as they said she was too rough with their puppy.

Despite their feelings about her, Lady clearly loved them as she escaped from the yard of her third home and travelled 30 miles back to their house.

Ultimately, she found herself back at the shelter, as neither the family nor the woman she’d run away from wanted to take her back in.

That’s when Helen Rich came to the rescue.

She learned of Lady’s saga on Facebook and decided to take the dog in.

Shortly after, a private jet arrived for Lady and she was on her way to her new life.
