Garry allen began his career as a professional wrestling referee with Al Tomko's All Star Wrestling in the 1980's. Via the All star Wrestling TV program (which originated on BCTV in British Columbia, Canada), he was seen across most of Canada.

Those who worked with him affectionately referred to him as "The King", and for over a decade he was the preferred choice among wrestlers in All Star Wrestling, West Coast Championship Wrestling (WCCW), and Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling (ECCW) to be in charge during their matches. His reputation led to working for the World Wrestling Federation, most notably being the arbiter for a match between Nailz and Virgil in Vancouver, BC.

In this video, "The king" tells a story about another BC wrestling legend and standout, Oly Olsen. How did this former Mr. Washington State get started in wrestling? Watch this video to find out!
