BUSINESS DAILY - Alstom weighs up bids from General Electric & Siemens

The bidding war for the French engineering firm Alstom is heating up, after Siemens announced an offer to rival that of General Electric for the company’s power generation business. French President François Hollande is meeting representatives of both bidders today, as the government has to sign off on any deal involving Alstom’s strategic assets.
