Its 1937. Turn on your radio and tune in to your local CBS station and enjoy Chesterfield time. Brought to radio listeners each Friday evening during 1937, the show starred Alice Faye and Hal Kemp & His Music. After a short intro, Alice Faye sings Smarty accompanied by the Four Esquires. At 1:25 begins a gallery of famous movie personalties who endorsed Chesterfield cigarettes ~ from Sinatra and Crosby to Grable and Hope. Quite an amazing group of endorsers that must have cost Liggett & Myers Tobacco a fortune. On the earliest days of TV, Chesterfield also hosted the Chesterfield Supper Club starring Perry Como. The show was also simulcast over clear channel radio stations as few people had or could afford a television in the early 1950s. Closing comments by announcer Carlton Cadell.
