Seattle Gay & Lesbian Sports Festival (1993)

Coverage of 1993's Northwest Gay & Lesbian Summer Sports Festival in Seattle. Over 1500 athletes competed in 31 different events, including swimming, water polo, tennis, croquet, softball, physique, golf, track and field, soccer and volleyball.

The festival has strong ties to the Gay Games as well, with many of the teams and individual athletes heading to New York for the 1994 Games.

Featuring Tim Frankulovich of Cuffs Bar, and restauranteur Alex Veltri, both sponsors of the event; co-chair Jeanne Johnson; Marvel Shoen, coach of the Seattle Otters water polo team; Gail Britto of the Emerald City Softball Association; croquet-ist Ed Miesen; Tim Chan of the Seattle Rainier Cup Invitational Volleyball Tournament; Matthew Roe; golfer Bill Etnyre; Gay Games '94 co-president Rick Peterson; Paul Mart, a co-founder of the original Gay Games; Tom Cracovia; and physique competitors Donna Macy and Michael Fiumara.
