Queer Holiday: Pensacola, Florida (1994)

Memorial Day is the biggest party of the year in the Panhandle, and that's when we were there. Pensacola is the center of the action. In addition to the beaches, the bars and clubs and all the regular attractions, Memorial Day features circuit party-size events. The oldest is White Heat, hosted by the nonprofit White heat AIDS foundation. This year, others included Big Top, hosted by Atlanta's Steve Berman, and Jeffery Sanker's Beach Maneuvers.
