Coverage of the 1993 convention of PFLAG (Parents, Families & Friends of Lesbians & Gays) in New Orleans. Scheduled the same weekend (Labor Day) as Southern Decadence, New Orleans' infamous LGBT Mardi Gras (which you can see at http://youtu.be/h3xtm_D6eT4), meant there was something for just about everyone, as well as some interesting juxtapositions. Featuring Sandra Pailet, president of New Orleans PFLAG; Larry Bagneris, Jr., Director of Community Affairs, New Orleans AIDS Task Force; mother and son Jane and Rob Daroff; Lou and Bruce Kriete from Clevelend, who had recently lost their son to AIDS; Carroll Lewitt, chair of Toronto PFLAG; Mitzi Henderson, PFLAG President; Sandra Moore, regional director from Ft. Worth, TX; Boris Oxman from Puerto Rico; and Rep. Gerry Studds of Massachusetts.
