SAKS FIFTH AVENUE: HOLIDAY WINDOW SIZZLE 2013
Saks Fifth Avenue comes alive with the 2013 debut of its Snowflake Spectacular, a dramatic light show projected onto the building. Snowflakes, dancers, gifts and a Yeti interact on the facade of the New York flagship store through state-of-the-art projection technology.
The traffic-stopping, 3D spectacle utilizes a custom-built six-projector system and a unique musical score to tell the story of the Snowflake and The Yeti. This year, the six animated Fifth Avenue windows feature the story of the legendary Yeti, who is rumored to live on the roof at Saks, making snow during the holiday season. Each window depicts a scene from Yeti’s life, from his humble beginnings as an unappreciated snowmaker in Siberia to his starring role as a true snowflake artist in New York.
Special performances by The American Ballet Theater Dancers and The Young Peoples Chorus of New York City are followed by a VIP performance by Grammy Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell.
