FNU Holds Trial run For Its Inaugural Men's Basketball Team

On Saturday, June 29 Coach Scott Schmidt held open trial runs for Florida National University's Men's Basketball Sports team at Bucky Dent Gym. Florida National University (FNU) will be making use of Bucky Dent Gym in Hialeah as its home court during the team's inaugural period. Coach Schmidt was very happy with the turnout of 45 players. Based on the large turnout, Schmidt feels FNU is well positioned to have an excellent first year.

Following the first hour of the tryouts, Coach Schmidt made an initial cut down to 18 players in order to better assess the individual skill he felt best fit his strategy. From there, 12 made the final cut. Schmidt mixed and matched lineups to see how players best managed different scenarios.
