Most of us have encountered the feeling of just wanting to get home.

That’s probably what was on the mind of one man in Yorke Peninsula, Australia when he hopped in the wrong car and drove away. The male had been parked in a lot near some shops in Stansbury.

He jumped into a grey Hyundai hatchback, which had been left unlocked with the keys resting in the ignition. The driver didn’t realize that his own vehicle was parked right next to the one he took.

Police were quickly called for assistance as the owner of the Hyundai witnessed his vehicle being driven out of the lot.

Officers eventually found the Hyundai parked outside of a private residence. A very apologetic man admitted he had accidentally taken the wrong car home.

The Hyundai was taken back to the rightful owner while the absent minded male was given a lift to his own vehicle. No charges were filed.
