Karachi Amateur Astronomers Society Zamzama Park Public Event on June 1, 2013 - CNBC Pakistan's Short TV Report

On June 1, 2013, Karachi Amateur Astronomers Society successfully organized public event "Al-Sufi Astronomy Night '13" - for astronomical observation through its telescopes of Venus, Jupiter & Saturn. I was at Zamzama Park, DHA, Karachi.

Dedication: The event was dedicated in the name of famous Muslim Astronomer Abd al-Rahman al-Sufi عبدالرحمن صوفی - He was from Shiraz, Iran and lived from 903 to 986 AD - and he is known in the west as Azophi; the lunar crater Azophi and the minor planet 12621 Alsufi are named after him. Al-Sufi published his famous Book of Fixed Stars in 964, describing much of his work, both in textual descriptions and pictures.May 25 is his death anniversary.
