'Homeland' a song about homesick immigrants and new beginnings

This song is about the brave people who leave their beloved homeland to make a new life, in a new land.
The song was an entry in the Irish Eurovision song contest in 2007 and was shortlisted in the RTE (National broadcast station) selection process. That was the year Dervish represented us. The arrangement you hear now, is a re-mix of the original version which was recorded with more traditional instruments and would have been in keeping with the Dervish's style. And what a fantastic group they are! For my song to get that far in the competition was like a 'win' for me. :-)
