Having a home is an essential human need.

A 91-year-old grandfather in Ohio is currently being evicted from his residence, the very same home that he built over half a century ago. Jack Potter is a retired train dispatcher and World War II veteran.

He received the eviction notice earlier this year….shockingly, from his own daughter, Janice. Jack signed over his power of attorney to his child, but she allegedly took advantage of her title.

She is accused of having her father’s house deed put into her name roughly 9 years ago without anyone’s consent or knowledge. The remaining family members didn’t catch on until 2010, but by then, the statute of limitations had run out and no legal action could be taken against Janice.

That’s where Jack’s 35-year-old granddaughter, Jaclyn comes into play. She initiated a campaign on GoFundMe.com, hoping to raise $125,000 before the scheduled June 12th eviction date, so her elderly relative can stay in his home. On May 16th, the monetary goal was reached.
