A woman is arrested for putting her child up for adoption on Craigslist.
Recently, a woman in Texas was arrested after she allegedly put her little boy up for adoption on Craigslist.
Stephanie Christine Redus is facing a charge of advertising the placement of a child. On May 1st, her post reportedly appeared on the site, stating “Hi. I'm trying to adopt out my 3yr old son. I'm not in a good place in my life and don't feel like I can care for him properly but I don't know where to start. I'm a single mom and can't do this.”
One of the responses she got was from a local police authority. Needless to say, the 29-year-old was abruptly detained, She said her reason for putting the ad was that she wasn’t taking her depression and anxiety pills.
According to court documents, she’s off her medications because she’s currently expecting another child.
Earlier this year, a mother in Oklahoma was accused of trying to sell her two kids on Facebook. She allegedly contacted an acquaintance on the social media site, asking $4,000 for her 2-year-old and 10-month-old children.
She was charged with trafficking minors, but claimed she was only trying to get money to bail her boyfriend out of jail.
