Melafind Now Available at Schaumburg Dermatology

One of the most important aspects of dermatology we focus on at Schaumburg Dermatology is the prevention, detection, and treatment of skin cancer, which is why we will now feature MelaFind® at our Schaumburg office. This state-of-the art diagnostic machine incorporates the same technology used in missile detection to identify different levels of skin abnormalities. Before MelaFind®, dermatologists had the options of visually assessing skin lesions and either waiting for changes to diagnose, or removing a section for a biopsy. The first option can be iffy and runs the risk of allowing too much time for a potentially dangerous situation to worsen, whereas the second option is invasive, painful, and not always necessary.
