A cat, addicted to McDonald's food is rescued.

Let's face it - regardless of the nutrition debate, most people love fast food and now we can add animals to that list.

A black and white kitty in New Zealand reportedly lived on McDonald’s food for over a year. Nicknamed “Frankie”, he was only a kitten when he started hanging around the establishment after he was abandoned by tenants who moved from a nearby block of apartments.

Frankie learned to beg drive-through customers for any stray piece of food. His sweet, hungry kitty routine worked and he often made off with a burger and fries from patrons who felt sorry for him.

Recently, McDonald’s employees became concerned, as Frankie’s appearance looked rather awful. That’s when SPCA field officer, Jessica Watson took the cat into her possession.

She is currently looking for a permanent home for him. Watson states “When I first took him home he refused to eat anything because it wasn't McDonald's. I would put pet food down and he would give me a look like, 'What is that?'

He has since gotten used to his new diet and is in good health.
