Angelina Jolie opens an all-girls school in Afghanistan.

Angelina Jolie teamed up with jeweler Robert Procop to create a fine jewelry line called the Style of Jolie. Proceeds from the sale of the extravagant items go to building schools for girls in areas with volatile conditions.

The collection’s signature element is a unique stone shape called the tablet co-designed by Jolie and expert gemologist Procop.

Once an item is sold the profits are donated to Education Partnerships for Children of Conflicts.

It was recently reported that a school built by the foundation has indeed opened in Afghanistan. Reportedly, it was made possible by the sale of a Style of Jolie ring featuring a 27-carat emerald.

The primary school is educating between 200 and 300 girls just outside of Kabul. The location was chosen by Jolie because of the large number of refugees living in the area.

The actress and philanthropist said of this particular endeavor, “Beyond enjoying the artistic satisfaction of designing these jewels, we are inspired by knowing our work is also serving the mutual goal of providing for children in need."
