Winky Wright Tribute
This is a tribute to my favorite boxer Winky Wright.
I tried to put Winky's long time trainer in as much as possible: Dan Birmingham.
Winky Wright is regarded to be one of the best defensive boxers of all time. He fought in an extremely tough decade and proved to be one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world (reached as high as number 3 according to the The Ring Pound for Pound Fighters - No1 was Floyd Mayweather and No 2 was Manny Pacquiao - 2006). He was avoided by many including Oscar De La Hoya because of his south paw stance and incredible defense. He defeated a really impressive Shane Mosley twice, destroyed Trinidad when he was at the top of his game and came to a grueling slug fest with Jermain Taylor (draw) and the legendary Bernard Hopkins (loss - but was very close to defeating Hopkins despite the ridiculous score cards). He is a true gentleman of the sport who always fought honestly and with great courage. This is a video tribute and a big thank you for a really under appreciated icon of the sport.
