Gas Poisoning After Woman Dries Clothes on Indoor BBQ

Carbon monoxide is released after a woman dries clothes on a BBQ.

How do you dry your clothes?

An elderly woman in UK opted to bring a barbeque indoors to dry her clothes.

The end result was that two adults and four children, including the woman’s grandkids had to be hospitalized for carbon monoxide poisoning. The woman reportedly lit the barbecue in the garden and placed it in her kitchen with the doors open.

The woman then left the house but unfortunately someone else inside of the residence shut the door. Emergency responders soon received a report of people collapsing inside of the home and the 6 occupants were taken to the hospital.

They have been treated and released and the fire chief is warning others to never bring a lit barbecue indoors.

Last year, Dorset Fire and Rescue Services in the United Kingdom were dispatched to a Market Street apartment when a second floor resident accidentally started a fire after trying to dry his undergarments in a microwave.
He was led to safety by neighbors, and two firemen quickly put out the fire, leaving behind "slight smoke damage'.
