Rachel Weisz finds double pleasure in film honor

STORY: New York film critics have named their picks for the best films and performances of 2012.
Director Kathryn Bigelow won her second best director honor for "Zero Dark Thirty," which also won for best picture of the year.
Actor Matthew McConaughey also went home double fisted by winning best supporting actor prizes for his role as a stripper in "Magic Mike" and an attorney in "Bernie."
Critics awarded actress Rachel Weisz with the best actress trophy for her role as a suicidal woman entangled in an affair in "The Deep Blue Sea." Weisz, who has also received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance is shocked over the attention the film is receiving.
'The Deep Blue Sea' didn't have any sort of push or advertising or anything of that sort," Weisz said.
The British film was first released in the UK in 2011 and in the U.S. in early 2012.
"It's lovely to be part of a movie when there is a studio with a big budget to support you with advertising, that's a wonderful thing. But in this case that didn't exist and the fact that the film is being honored without all that makes it, yes, doubly special," she added.
Both leads from director Steven Spielberg's film "Lincoln," Daniel Day Lewis and Sally Field were voted best actors by the organization.
The New York Film Critics Circle was founded in 1935 and includes members from daily and weekly newspapers, magazines and online publications.
