Police Officers from the joint Transport for London and Metropolitan Police Service Safer Transport Command Workplace Violence Unit are appealing for help in identifying a man following an assault on a bus driver in Barnet.

The incident occurred on Sunday, 14 October at about 04:15hrs on a route 134 bus in High Road, N12 (A100).

Two men (suspect 1 and 2) boarded the bus and attempted to pay with a £20 note, which the driver refused to accept as he was unable to change it

The suspects eventually paid using smaller currency after a brief dispute and the driver continued his journey.

The bus terminated at High Road, N12 and all passengers and the driver alighted. Both suspects then attacked the driver - punching and kicking him, before making off.

The driver received a fractured eye socket and has been off work since the incident.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect 1: Male of Mediterranean appearance, short dark hair, wearing stripped top and blue trousers.

Suspect 2: White male, short dark hair, wearing dark jacket and trousers

Anyone with information is urged to contact DC Andy Barnard leading the investigation for the Workplace Violence Unit on 020 3054 5406 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
