Police car rape: Quebec woman sexually assaulted after being thrown in police car with sex offender

This is the town of Tasiujaq in northern Quebec, Canada. Because the town is only accessible by plane, boat or snowmobile, good help is probably hard to find.
Back in 2011, a then local 17-year-old girl was arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct at a relative’s home. She was thrown in the same squad car as another man who had been arrested earlier.
That man was 24-year-old Joe Kritik, a known sex offender with four convictions under his belt.
When the officer went back to talk to the girl’s relatives, Kritik had his way with the teenager, who was handcuffed and couldn’t defend herself. And to add insult to injury, the girl was jailed overnight with no contact with her parents or medical treatment given.
Kritik plead guilty to the assault and another 39 months in jail for it. The constable was suspended and ultimately resigned. An internal investigation later cleared her of any wrongdoing.
