Britain's Prince Charles and his wife Camilla arrived in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, on Saturday as part of a 13-day Pacific tour to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee.

The royal couple touched down at Jackson's International Airport aboard a Royal Australian Air Force Boeing 737 aircraft.

A red carpet was rolled out for their arrival, with Papua New Guinea's Prime Minister, Peter O'Neill, greeting them as they stepped off the plane.

Prince Charles and Camilla were given a 21-gun salute, as Charles inspected a military honour guard.
