Good news for John Travolta. A judge dismissed a defamation case against the actor. He was being sued by the author of a book who claimed Travolta spread false statements about him to persuade people not to buy it. Among other things, the book had said Travolta frequented Los Angeles-area bathhouses. A claim Travolta has vehemently denied.

Britain's royal family said on Friday (September 28) that it would not lodge a complaint with the country's press watchdog over the publication of photos showing Prince Harry cavorting naked in a Las Vegas hotel room. Pictures of the prince surfaced in August on a U.S. website and were later published by Sun tabloid - the only British title to run the photos. Harry's office said the royals had decided not to pursue a formal complaint given the prince's current deployment in Afghanistan.

Finally, J.K. Rowling addressed hundreds of people in London to promote her new adult fiction novel - "The Casual Vacancy." The "Harry Potter" author told the crowd that she avoids reading reviews - which may be a good idea at the moment: reviews have been all over the place - some critics have praised the book, others have called it "dull."
