Book exposes acidic side of ex-first lady Jackie Kennedy

Jacqueline Kennedy is considered the quiet and doting wife of assassinated US president John Fitzgerald Kennedy.

But, a new book which includes interviews recorded just four months after the assassination of her husband, reveals a tender, intelligent but, at times, gossipy woman with controversial views.

Among her views published in the book are that civil rights leader Martin Luther King was a "phony" and that Indira Gandhi was a "pushy, horrible woman".
