Syrian unrest spills across borders

Unrest continues across Syria, with tens of thousands still taking to the streets to protest against the government and its violent crackdown on dissent.

Human right activists have said that Bashar al-Assad's government is relatively restraining its security forces since its closest ally Turkey put pressure on the regime to stop the violence and start reform.

The president is expected to address his people with some concessions next week. But the opposition is skeptical that this regime can actually bring real change to Syria.

Meanwhile, the unrest continues to affect civilians, also spilling into neighbouring Lebanon and Turkey.
