Shoot out in Mexico.
Seven suspected gang members are killed in a shootout with federal police near a wealthy area about an hour outside Mexico City.
The shootout broke out after gunmen failed to stop at a highway stop. The suspected gang members opened fire on police traveling in an armored vehicle.
Local reports say that one police officer was injured during the shootout and one suspect arrested.
Heavy assault rifles were seized at the crime scene.
In a separate incident, a Canadian citizen was shot dead in Mexico's drug-ravaged Pacific state of Sinaloa just before midnight Sunday. Police are still investigating the motive for the shooting.
About 46,000 people have been killed since President Felipe Calderon launched his war against drugs in late 2006.
