A couple in Delaware has been arrested after their daughter accused them of waterboarding her as punishment. The 11 year old girl’s father, pediatrician Melvin Morse, reportedly held his daughter’s face under the stream of a running faucet, forcing water to go up her nose. The form of punishment allegedly happened four times between 2009 and 2011 and was witnessed by her mother who failed to intervene or report the incidents. Morse has written two books including the near-death experiences of children, and has appeared on Larry King Live and Oprah Winfrey to discuss his research. Morse is behind bars pending 14 thousand 500 dollars bail, and the mother has been released after having posted bail. ABC News reports that the couple has been charged with “two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a second-degree felony conspiracy charge and four counts of felony first-degree reckless endangering for the alleged waterboarding incidents."

In a separate case, a 73 year old grandmother in England was tortured and waterboarded by burglars who broke into her home and stole jewelry and personal items.
