Fresh fighting is reportedly underway in Syria's second city Aleppo.
Activists said that rebels have launched an offensive to take the centre of the ancient city, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Government forces said they had gained control of the city's main prison after an overnight mutiny led to the deaths of 15 inmates.
