Dutch trees get a second life

Volunteers and a biologist of the association Tafelboom (Dutch for "table tree") work on wood on June 12, 2012 at a barn in Utrecht. They could have ended up as firewood or sawdust but felled trees in the Dutch city of Utrecht are getting a second life as one-of-a-kind tables, each with a booklet of stories by people who saw them grow. Tafelboom is a project launched in 2009 in Utrecht, where trees are regularly cut off due to lack of space, redevelopment or because they are old or sick. Duration: 00:29
