I've Got So Much to Give - Barry White (original 1973, extended remix 2010)

…Ultimately, what saved me was the unconditional love I had for my mother. She was the kindest, most loving, most generous, and dearest woman in the world. The roots of the difference between [my brother] Darryl and me lay in our parents. Darryl had the tough cynicism of the old man, while I had my mother’s tender spirit and soul. When I was still a little boy, my father once told Darryl and me, “Don’t ever do anything and not get paid for it.” He was adamant about this. My mother, who was sitting right behind him, came around and said, “No, don’t tell them that.” Then she turned to Darryl and me and said, “Don’t always do things and expect you have to get paid for it.”
To this day, I see people making choices in life about their work, their art, their homes, their families. They either go my father’s way, or they go my mother’s. And the results they achieve usually can be followed with a fair amount of predictability. Character, indeed, becomes their fate, character that is determined at such an early and influential time in our lives…

…I know who I am, and if you know who you are, let's get to know one another the right way, without putting the game on each other. Women always tell me they're surprised how easy it is to talk to me. I tell them that’s because I never run a game on them. I prefer to deal in truth, not deception. Trust, not trickery. Decency, not deception. Love, not lust; this is where I come from. This is why my music is always so positive. I am in control of my creative force. I see a world of beauty and perfection, and I strive through my music to spread that vision, to help make this planet we call home a better, more desirable place for us to love one another, to procreate ant to keep our spirits renewed…
