TV9 - Beer bath on Pune-Bangalore national highway........!
A truck carrying 700 crates of beer hit a stationary truck near Kalpanahalli about six km from here on the Pune-Bangalore national highway on Thursday morning.
As beer bottles spilled on to the highway, news of the accident spread.
People from nearby villages and those travelling in buses got down and carried away the unbroken booty. By the time the police arrived, the truck was almost empty, with only a few broken bottles remaining. The police, with the assistance of the village people, cleared the highway off debris. Vehicles were stranded for hours on the highway.
Inspector (Rural) Jagadish told The Hindu that the loss may amount to Rs. 6 lakh. A case has been registered.
