Update: Syrian FM in Moscow for talks

A UN-backed plan to end the violence in Syria looks to have failed.

The deadline for Syrian troops to withdraw from protest centres has expired, and there are reports of Syrian forces shelling the city of Hama.

And activists say tanks are still patrolling the streets of Douma.

Syria's Foreign Minister Walid Muallem is in Moscow for talks with the Russian government, one of its long-time supporters.
