Serbia looks to IMF to boost economy - March 25 09

Serbia is to receive a multi-billion dollar bailout loan from the International Monetary Fund to help save its deteriorating economy.

The IMF said the loan was expected to be formally approved in May once Serbia had complied with a number of conditions.

The global economic downturn has represented a serious challenge for the country's pro-European government and its citizens.
