The group TriOde is dedicated to working at the crossing point between cultures, between the Arab, classical and jazz worlds, between old and new, where mysticism and music come together. This is a performance by two-thirds of the trio, Laïla Amezian and Anja Naucler (though Anja has brought along her own special 'guest artist').
Laïla Amezian has continually tested the limits of vocal performance, exploring different ways of matching voice and music and different modes of fusion in an ongoing examination of human and cultural identity. Her diverse musical collaborations include work with DJ Grazzhoppa, Studio Pagol, Jaune Toujours and Arabanda.
Anja Naucler feels at home in chamber ensembles and large orchestras, she is versatile enough to find a place in jazz, rock and world music groups (e.g. with the likes of Ghalia Benali, Manou Gallo, Pucho Diaz, etc.).
"Muwashah" is a traditional Andalusian song in the Arab tradition featuring the lyrics of the great Arab poet Al-Mutanabbi.
