Dorina is a singer and songwriter born in Tirana (Albania), grew up in Trieste (Italy) and currently living in Munich (Germany).
She began her musical journey at a young age studying classical piano, both privately and in the Conservatory of Trieste “Giuseppe Tartini”. During the teenage years, she started singing and performing with her father, with local bands and other talented musicians. Curious by nature and greedy of music and culture, she explored a lot of musical genres without prejudices, from pop to blues going through heavy metal and opera singing as well; she performed in clubs and cultural events for over a decade.
With a strong interest for ethnomusicology, she attended the Rhodope International Summer Course in Shiroka Luka (Bulgaria), learning some of the bulgarian vocal techniques. After that experience, she began to explore her voice inspired by masters as Demetrio Stratos, John Cage, Meredith Monk and Sainkho Namtchylak.
She is a versatile singer, both on stage and in the studio, equally proficient in any style of pop, folk, musical theater, ambient/ethereal, and ethnic-flavored film music.
She moved to Munich for studying music (currently she’s studying privately classical harp with Fedora Gabler) and working on her first debut album for the italian Indie label Niegazowana with her friend and author Walter Somà.
