Vladimir Bukovsky EU = USSR

I didn't live in USSR, but I lived in a communist country, and now I live in the EU, so I sadly agree with EU = USSR assessment.
I was a kind back then, but I remember things, and read about it too.
I can understand that so called "western democracies", that didn't experience that "caring, just, and kind" system, want to live in it. But I don't understand why people who were adults in communist countries, want to repeat that kind of system. Are they so used to "taking pointers", from Moscow, that they need another "capitol", to tell them how to live, what to do ?
