Coastal Cities are a band from Buckinghamshire who formed in the Summer of 2009 after a brief encounter at school, which led to Declan Cullen (guitar/vocals) Sean Semmens (Guitar) and Lewis Slade (Drums) starting to practice together. They eventually recruited Dan Hardy (bass) and William Clark (keys/synths) and started to make music that was different to that of the local area, focusing on a more upbeat and poppy vibe compared to the post-punk/ hardcore scene in which they were surrounded by.

After making somewhat of a setlist, the band got their first gig at the Nags Head in High Wycombe on the 10th July 2009 and played a few local shows and house-parties around the local area, concentrating on trying to make an energetic live set that was both enjoyable for the band and the audience. That December, the band created a 3-track demo called "Abandon Ship" which they put on their social networking sites to attract more fans and gig promoters and to bring across the type of music that they were bringing to the scene.

In late 2010 however, after a series of live shows and increased publicity the band had found that they had moved away from the slightly darker minimalist sound that they had been going for, and decided to make their music more accessible to a wider audience. The band then created their debut EP "Transgression" which was recorded in March 2011 by producer Jordan Fish at Studio 91 in Newbury. The EP showed a different side to the band than before, and attracted a much wider range of response including acclaimed band "The Drums" who said they "could not stop listening to it". With this new EP under their belts the band is currently playing live shows in the south east and
hoping to release a record in the future.
