Taye Williams is a Kiwi R&B/Soul singer/Songwriter musician who began his musical career busking on the streets of Auckland in 2001. He quickly secured his first paying gig and spent three years as the resident musician at Grand Central in the trendy Auckland suburb of Ponsonby.
Taye has collaborated with Ron LePread (ex-bass player for the Commodores) and won local showcases such as Auckland Idol 2003 and Pub Idol 2004. He is media savvy, having made appearances on a number of New Zealand television channels as well as being interviewed on national radio stations, including The Edge, New Zealand's most widely broadcast Top 40 station.

Tayes biggest opportunity arose when he opened for the US super duo KI-CI and JOJO, whose songs have had international success many times over, these two brothers, are musicians who Taye most definitely holds in high regards.

Taye is highly regarded by his peers and has jammed with members of well-known successful local artists Opshop, Blindspott, Dane Rumble, Awanui Reeder and 48 May. He was a regular at New Zealand's biggest hip hop music assembly REPREZENT and shared the bill with chart toppers Misfits of Science and Dei Hamo. Fast Forward to 2008/2009, Taye was planning his movements based on working with more and more artists here as well as abroad and is currently in celebrating the release of his debut single "TURN IT UP". Taye spent time in studio with a writing team consisting of Jason Kerrison (Opshop) and Paul Matthews (Stylus, Tadpole) steadily grow his repertoire and recording skills with the help of many of his peers.

Taye spent time to work on personal elements of his songwriting ability and hone this skill, whilst also getting behind the desk to understand the elements of producing and engineering music.

His single Turn it Up, follows his conversations that many people may have had when a friend is talking about his conquests, believable or not, Taye is a good judge of character so easily distinguishes the difference between truth and a good story with a few white lies.
The simple yet energetic song has qualities that harness his abilities as an actual musician who can play instruments sing and entertain as an all in one package.

Since returning from his time in Chicago, which he managed to see how anyone and everyone explores their talent visual or otherwise with strong belief, Taye's now a focused student who loves to learn as well as help others with anything he can, much like Taye's previous employer, he is a kiwi product with his eyes firmly fixed on the international stage.
