PRESENTED BY PAULINE FREEMAN
Frontman / Pianist John Joe Daly, had his first meeting with Drummer Dave Ivers playing covers with some school friends at a graduation ceremony! Each then went on to college and played music with various other people coming together every now and then for the odd jamming and recording sessions. A few years on, in June 2006 after befriending a violinist from Cork (Eileen Prendeville), a small intimate gig in Dublin was arranged for friends and relatives featuring John Joe's music, with Percussion and Violin featuring for some of the songs.
After the overwhelming response, it was decided that the outfit should be expanded into a full band format. John Joe immediately recruited life long friend and guitarist Barry "Buzz" McGee, and the chemistry was amazing! "As soon as Barry played to the first song, everything fell into place!" Fresh off the plane for a 1 year hiatus in Dublin was Swedish Cello player Pia Henoch who was recruited before she had her bags collected!! Audium was born!
Noticed as a definite breath of fresh air, Audium are determined to make a notch on the Irish Music Scene, with driving Piano, creative guitar, eclective drumming and a haunting string section. With influences vast and varied, their live performances can go from a soft delicate passage to thundering grooves.
Working from their base in Kildare, they are currently in the studio trying to capture the magic of their live performances through their recordings.
