Following a two year musical sabbatical, Emma O Driscoll has returned to the music scene with her pop/rock outfit Y23. Emma, famed for her involvement in the pop act Six has spent the past 2 years as a full time TV presenter with R.T.Es The Den and most recently has participated in a number of reality TV shows including Celebrity 252 and this seasons hit R.T.E show Celebrity Jigs and Reels.
The beautiful Limerick lady already holds the biggest/fastest selling Irish single of all time with her previous band Six, however shes adamant that making music with Y23 is a completely different experience. As Emma puts it
"There's a raw energy with the band, everythings very natural, soulful and from the heart. Im really getting to express myself through the music which is something Im really excited about".
Y23, formed and managed by ex-Six band member Andy Orr, is a collection of musicians and songwriters from varying diverse backgrounds whose music makes for an interesting mix of soulful rock blended with a sweet pop sensitivity.
Andy Orr, an alternative act enthusiast, cherry picked each of the members of the group from some of the top unsigned bands in Ireland.
All of the bands music is predominately written by Mick and Chizz with some creative input from each of the other members. The band have just recorded a 3 song demo and are now busy rehearsing new material as they prepare for a tour of Ireland.
