Dr. Peter Jiang, MD is a practicing Medical Oncologist at The Everett Clinic.
GI oncology is one area of my interest and genital urinary oncology. The good news is that there's been a lot of advancement, for colon cancer, for the GI tract. There are new treatments, even patients with an advanced stage can live longer than they did three years ago. That's exciting.
The GI oncology includes the esophagus all the way down. We have a great program here for the esophagus, a very robust team, surgeons, radiation doctors, oncologists. The stomach cancer is another area which we have a different team. For each cancer of the GI tract, we have different surgeons, different teams. So, we have a cancer conference every week to talk about new cases and get everybody's opinion into the treatment program. So, that's a unique part of this GI oncology program.
